The 2021 MLB Legendary Moment Award bracket has been officially unveiled, which features eight of the year’s best plays and performances from the regular season and postseason. A pair of Los Angeles Dodgers in Mookie Betts and Chris Taylor are among the nominees.

Betts’ game-winning catch against the San Diego Padres on April 17 is up against Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson’s walk-off home run in the Field of Dreams game.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Betts robbed Tommy Pham of what would’ve been at least a game-tying hit to help the Dodgers preserve their 2-0 victory and clinch a series win at Petco Park.

The highlight-reel moment came on a play that had a 10% catch probability. Betts’ web gem was recognized by MLB as the Play of the Week.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s three-home run performance against the Atlanta Braves is facing off against Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena’s steal of home plate in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.

With the Dodgers needing a win to stave off elimination, Taylor responded by hitting three home runs in an 11-2 win in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series.

It marked only the 12th three-home run game in MLB postseason history and the second by a Dodgers player (Kiké Hernandez, Game 5 of the 2017 NLCS against the Chicago Cubs).

Other nominees for the 2021 MLB Legendary Moment Award include L.A. Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani starting and leading off for the AL in the All-Star Game.

That performance is matched up against Aaron Judge delivering a walk-off single in the final game of the regular season that clinched a spot for the New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game.

Braves outfielder Jorge Soler is the only player with two memorable plays in the bracket. His game-winning, pinch-hit home run in Game 4 of the World Series is taking on his go-ahead moonshot in the deciding Game 6 against the Houston Astros.

Rays’ Brett Phillips edged out Betts for 2020 MLB Legendary Moment Award

Rays outfielder Brett Phillips’ walk-off single against the Dodgers in the 2020 World Series was the winner of last year’s MLB Legendary Moment Award.

Phillips edged out Betts’ home run robbing catch and Cody Bellinger go-ahead blast in Game 7 of the 2020 NLCS against the Braves.
