The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and 76 Gas have partnered to improve access to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in the local area.

The collaboration will help LADF, in partnership with Science of Sport continue to provide and expand its hands-on STEM curriculum and programming to elementary and middle-school teachers and students in local underserved communities.

“We are thrilled to team up with 76 to make this limited-edition pin available,” LADF CEO Nichol Whiteman said in a statement. “It is our hope that Dodger fans join us in this collaboration that will allow us the opportunity to provide the gift of STEM education to thousands more youth.”

Fans can support the efforts by texting “FUEL” to 41623, visiting the foundation’s homebase location in the center field plaza at Dodger Stadium, or online.

The first 1,000 fans to donate a minimum of $76 or will receive six collectible 76-Dodgers pins, which include a new limited-edition design featuring Smilin’ Jack in a Dodgers jersey. Some of the coveted Dodgers pins were previously available during a special promotion earlier this season.

Fans who donate in person at Dodger Stadium will also receive additional giveaways, including a bag of caramel popcorn. Fans can also support the effort by participating in a special online auction from Sept. 27-Oct. 5 at Dodgers.com/Auctions, which will feature autographed memorabilia, including game-worn jerseys.

Fans can additionally support by entering LADF’s 50/50 Raffle on Saturday, Oct. 2, from which 50% of the pot will benefit STEM programming. Matching funds for the entire campaign will be provided by 76, up to $76,000.

LADF championing STEM education

The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation’s STEM curriculum was developed through a grant to Science of Sport to educate young people and spark curiosity in such subjects. LADF’s Science of Baseball program works to address the inequities that exist for Black, Latino and female students by partnering with schools in communities that need it most.
