Saturday, Feb. 22, not only represents the Cactus League opener for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but also an exciting moment for “The Big Swing Podcast,” co-hosted by Ross Stripling and Cooper Surles.

The two are poised to record a live show at the Baseballism store in Scottsdale, Ariz. (3961 N. Brown Avenue), beginning at 8 p.m. local time. It marks the first time “The Big Swing Podcast” will be recorded in front of an audience.

“We are super pumped to finally record our first live episode in front of our loyal listeners,” Surles told DodgerBlue.com. “Over the course of the last year we’ve felt like we’ve gotten to know them, but we can’t wait to hang out with some of the ‘Swingers’ in person.”

Stripling and Surles will field questions from fans as part of their live show, welcome surprise guests, hold a meet and greet after recording, and Baseballism will offer a special promotion for those in attendance.

Space is limited, entry is not guaranteed and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Baseballism likely will only grant access to 30-40 attendees.

“The Big Swing Podcast” is heading into its second year and it has given Stripling an opportunity to spend time on the other side of the microphone. “Normally I’m the one who gets interviewed,” he told DodgerBlue.com at the time of launching the show.

“So to sit down and try to prepare an interview and then get mixture of personalities where some guys will go on and talk for 10 straight minutes and others you have to really work to get some stuff out of them, that’s been fun. That’s a side of stuff that I’ve never really done. Coming up with bits that people would find entertaining has been fun.”

The show’s guests have included Kiké Hernandez and his wife Mariana, Kourtney Turner, Walker Buehler, Michael Wacha, Cody Bellinger, Joe Davis, Alanna Rizzo, actor David Berman and entrepreneur Scott Warner, among others.

Stripling and Surles naturally discuss matters involving the Dodgers, but also touch on pop culture, the NFL, NBA and more.

“The Big Swing Podcast” can be downloaded on iTunes and followed through the show’s Twitter and Instagram accounts.
