Dodgers News: Padres Season Ticket Holders Able To Purchase Tickets To Seoul Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers open their 2024 regular season slate against the San Diego Padres with a two-game series in South Korea. The first leg of Major League Baseball’s World Tour has already garnered much attention with tickets in incredibly high demand.

Tickets for the event sold out within an hour of going live. Official ticket prices ranged from $90 to $525, but the secondary market is likely to push that even higher.

The highly-anticipated Dodgers debut of Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto has elevated the buzz surrounding MLB’s first games in South Korea.

With few options available for fans to purchase tickets, Padres season ticket holders have their own avenue to secure entry to the event, per Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Tribune:

In collaboration with Major League Baseball, a limited number of Seoul Series tickets will be made available to Padres season ticket members via a member-only opportunity in early February.

Padres season ticket holders aren’t required to purchase tickets, but if they choose to do so, they’ll be limited to two tickets per account. Members are required to confirm their interest before February 3.

The rest of the tickets for the opener were reserved for Korean residents, which sold out quickly after going on sale:

The rest of the tickets for the March 20-21 Seoul Series between the Dodgers and Padres are reserved for Coupang WOW members and residents of South Korea, although one could purchase tickets on the secondary market.

The two-game series will be played at Gocheok Sky Dome from March 20-21, with 7:05 p.m. local start times (3:05 a.m. PT).

In addition to Ohtani and Yamamoto, Padres infielder Ha-Seong Kim is another name to keep an eye on as he’s a native of South Korea. In 2023, he earned the National League Gold Glove as a utility man.

Will Dodgers fans have the opportunity to purchase tickets for Seoul Series?

Dodgers season ticket holders don’t yet have the same opportunity as Padres season ticket members, but with the Dodgers labeled as the home team for the second game, that will likely be the available opportunity.

Tickets for the second game do not go on sale until March 1.

It’s unclear if there will be any adjustments to the current system, but with MLB collaborating to save tickets for Padres fans, the same opportunity will likely be available for Dodgers fans.
