Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is hosting the second annual Bat 4 HOPE Celebrity Softball Game in benefit of PADRES Contra El Cáncer, on Saturday, Nov. 12, at Dodger Stadium.
PADRES is an organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families. They formed in 1985 with a goal to support the needs of the Latino community who have a higher risk of medical problems due to various factors.
Tickets to the softball game begin at $50, with an All-Star Pack available for $65. Those who purchase an All-Star ticket are entered into a random drawing to meet Gonzalez at the event.
The opportunity to be entered into the drawing ends Friday, Oct. 28 at 11:59pm PT.
The day’s festivities will include: a sponsor village, an autograph session with Adrian Gonzalez (limited number of baseballs and items will be signed prior to the start of the game), silent auction, raffle, and an award ceremony for the game MVP.
Last year Gonzalez was joined by teammates Joc Pederson, Hyun-Jin Ryu and Justin Turner, with Pederson participating in the game. Nomar Garciaparra also took part in the action, and hit multiple home runs. Actresses Constance Marie and Eva Longoria were among the celebrities in attendance.
Gonzalez, a PADRES Ambassador, is the Dodgers’ nominee for the 2016 Roberto Clemente Award.
Gonzalez and his wife Betsy established the Adrian and Betsy Gonzalez Foundation to provide for those in need. The foundation’s focus is on empowering underprivileged youth in areas of athletics, education and health.
Gonzalez and his wife have provided all-inclusive tickets to games for families in the Los Angeles area, funded back-to-school shopping sprees and worked with the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.
