Dodgers’ Magic Number Now Just 3

The Los Angeles Dodgers Magic Number is now just three.

The Dodgers’ behind Clayton Kershaw rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat the rival Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 6-3 on Thursday afternoon. Later that night the San Diego Padres did the same against the San Francisco Giants and beat them 5-4. With those results the Dodgers can lock up the National League West with three wins over the weekend against the Colorado Rockies.

The New York Mets are just as close to clinching a division title and look to be the Dodgers presumptive first-round opponent in the playoffs. The Mets trail the Dodgers by a game-and-a-half for home-field advantage, and also have a magic number of three.

According to FanGraphs the Dodgers are now 99.9% likely to reach the post-season.
