Dodgers Injuries: Chris Taylor Undergoing CT Scan

The Los Angeles Dodgers got back in the win column on Monday night, but injury concern remains with Chris Taylor after he was removed in the sixth inning.

Taylor had previously missed the series finale against the San Diego Padres due to a left foot contusion. “He tried to run the bases there and it just kind of flared up on him. He’s going to get a CT scan and we’ll see where we’re at,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Monday.

“If Chris has got to come out of the game, you know it’s something that’s pretty significant. So my assumption is he’ll be down a couple days and then we’ll sort of re-evaluate.”

While Taylor sustained what the Dodgers deemed a foot contusion, the exit against the Colorado Rockies was because of swelling in his left ankle.

“It was something that was feeling better before the game and I thought it wasn’t going to be an issue,” Taylor explained.

“I thought I would be able to play through it, and it progressively every inning it got worse and worse and got to a point where it wasn’t worth continuing to try to push it. … Every time I ran I just progressively got worse.”

Taylor hopes to avoid injured list

Despite now dealing with a lingering foot issue, Taylor believes he will only need to be out of the Dodgers’ lineup for a couple games. That’s despite the trouble involving multiple parts of his foot.

“On the inside of my foot and then it kind of runs into my ankle,” Taylor said. “There’s a little bit of swelling and there might be a tendon or something that runs up. It’s mainly inside to the ankle.”
