Fresh off their impressive sweep against the Atlanta Braves, the Los Angeles Dodgers kept the good times rolling with a 6-3 victory against the visiting Miami Marlins.

Four different Dodgers hit a home run to give Walker Buehler plenty of run support in his 2024 season debut.

The Marlins ambushed Buehler for three runs in the first the first two innings as he tried to get settled in for his first start in two seasons. However, the Dodgers offense was having none of it as they quickly answered back each time the Marlins attempted to establish an early lead.

With the Dodgers facing a 2-0 deficit in the first Shohei Ohtani evened the score with his 11th homer of the season and fourth in his last three games. Freddie Freeman immediately followed it up with a home run of his own, a solo shot to give the Dodgers a 3-2 lead.

There aren't enough words to describe how good Shohei Ohtani is at baseball.

Nick Gordon hit a solo homer of his own in the top of the second to tie the score at 3-3, but it didn’t stay that way for long. Once again the Dodgers quickly answered the Marlins’ scoring with runs of their own as James Outman hit L.A.’s second two-run homer in as many innings to put them up 5-3 heading into the third.

From there Buehler settled into the game and faced just one over the minimum during his final two innings of work. Teoscar Hernández added another run to the Dodgers total in the third with a solo home run, his ninth of the season that gave the Dodgers a 6-3 lead.

Alex Vesia gets the save for the Dodgers in Evan Phillips’ absence

The Dodgers only seemed to be interested in scoring runs when Buehler was on the mound as they did not score again in this game. However, the bullpen continued to shine for the Dodgers and shut down the Marlins the rest of the way. Alex Vesia filled in for the injured Evan Phillips as he retired the side in order to earn the save.
