Giants Vs. Dodgers Game Preview: Miguel Rojas Mic’d Up For ESPN Sunday Night Baseball

After taking two of the first three games at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers can secure a series win over the San Francisco Giants with another victory on Sunday.

The matchup is being exclusively televised on ESPN for the last Sunday Night Baseball broadcast of the season, with first pitch changed to 4:10 p.m. PT. The game also is the Dodgers’ last at home until the National League Division Series.

Miguel Rojas is mic’d up for the Sunday Night Baseball telecast and will answer questions not only from the booth but a select few submitted by fans as well.

Lance Lynn makes his 31st start of the season and 10th since being traded to the Dodgers at the deadline. He is on a personal two-game winning streak after giving up three runs and six hits in his most recent start against the Detroit Tigers.

It came on the heels of Lynn allowing two runs over seven innings against the San Diego Padres in a September 12 outing. “Trying to get back to what I was good at early on in my career, and starting to see signs of it,” Lynn said after his performance against the Tigers.

“Hopefully in the next couple we can iron some things out and then be ready to go for a long playoff push.”

Lynn owns a 6-2 record, 4.67 ERA, 6.32 FIP and 1.29 WHIP in 52 innings since being acquired by the Dodgers. He has allowed an MLB-worst 42 home runs this season, including at least one in his last five starts.

The Giants counter with Ryan Walker, who looks to continue what has been a solid rookie season. He enters play at 4-3 with a 3.20 ERA, 3.63 FIP, 1.42 WHIP and 11.3 strikeouts per nine in 56.1 innings pitched across 45 games (12 starts).

Walker tossed 1.1 scoreless innings in his only appearance against the Dodgers at Oracle Park on June 16.

While the Dodgers have already clinched a spot in the NL Division Series, the Giants are still mathematically alive for the third Wild Card. San Francisco trails the Chicago Cubs by four games with seven to play and an elimination number of four.
