The Los Angeles Dodgers closed out their final homestand of the season with a 3-2 walk-off win against the San Francisco Giants in 10 innings.
Selected for ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, the series finale at Dodger Stadium featured plenty of entertaining and thrilling moments, including instances of in-game interviews with Miguel Rojas and Clayton Kershaw.
Rojas was mic’d up for the broadcast but asked them to briefly wait while he fielded a ground ball in the second inning. Then as Lance Lynn was looking to escape a bases-loaded jam, Kershaw was taking part in an interview with the broadcast and had a real-time reaction to Thairo Estrada’s attempt at a bunt with two outs.
Lynn made a running catch to end the inning and keep the Dodgers’ 2-0 lead that had been staked thanks to James Outman’s home run in the second.

As the game remained tied into extra innings, Chris Taylor came up with his first of two significant contributions. Shelby Miller faced a bases-loaded situation with one out in the 10th and nearly caused havoc by attempting to field a comebacker.
The ball went off his glove but continued toward Taylor, who stepped on second base and threw low to first but it was dug out by Freddie Freeman.
“Just kind of a weird, freak play. I was trying to step on the bag and throw it at the same time. I gave Freddie a terrible in-between hop, and he made an unbelievable double play to save us,” Taylor said after the win.
“So hat’s off to Freddie.”
Miller also took some blame for making the play more difficult and noted he needs to avoid interfering.
Taylor then found himself in a big spot at the plate in the bottom half of the inning, and he delivered a walk-off single into right field.
Dodgers attendance
With an announced attendance of 48,315 on Sunday night, the Dodgers’ 2023 total closed at 3,837,079. That’s good for their fifth-largest attendance for a single season in franchise history.
