Dodgers Fan Gets Tattoos Of Cody Bellinger & Matt Beaty Autographs

The Los Angeles Dodgers held their first official workout of Spring Training on Monday morning as the team prepares for their Cactus League opener against the Milwaukee Brewers later this week.

With Spring Training now in full swing, fans have flocked to Camelback Ranch for a chance to see some of their favorite players up close. The Dodgers’ Spring Training facility is open daily during workouts, with admission and parking free.

On Sunday, which marked the official start of 2022 Dodgers Spring Training, several players took time to sign autographs for fans. The group included Cody Bellinger, who signed a fan’s arm after he promised to then get it tattooed.

The fan made good on his promise as the Dodgers’ Twitter account shared a photo of his new ink. Next to Bellinger’s signature is another tattoo of Matt Beaty’s autograph.

The fan also tweeted a photo of the finished product, which elicited a response from Bellinger, who called him a “man of his word.”

Bellinger is coming off the worst statistical season of his career after hitting just .165/.240/.302 with nine doubles, 10 home runs and 36 RBI in 95 games. He did manage to right the ship in October, batting an excellent .353/.436/.471 with one double, one home run and seven RBI in 12 postseason games.

Despite the down year, Bellinger and the Dodgers worked out a new contract prior to the lockout beginning by agreeing to a one-year, $17 million deal and avoiding arbitration.

After some regression during the 2020 season, Beaty bounced back to produce off the bench for the Los Angeles Dodgers near the same level as his debut campaign. In 120 games (45 starts), he hit .270/.363/.402 with four doubles, seven home runs and 40 RBI.

Bellinger among Dodgers who reported to Spring Training early

Players were not due to report to camp until Sunday, but Bellinger was among those who arrived early at Camelback Ranch. The 26-year-old took batting practice the previous day and is confident he will be able to manage a shortened Spring Training.
