A new wave of pitching injuries have impacted the Los Angeles Dodgers roster this month and now Brusdar Graterol in his quest to return from right shoulder surgery.
Over the past eight days, the Dodgers have put Tyler Glasnow, Brock Stewart and Blake Snell on the 15-day injured list. Glasnow is dealing with back spams, Stewart has a bone spur in his left foot, and Snell has loose bodies in his left elbow.
Meanwhile, Graterol had been on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Brusdar Graterol ends rehab assignment
After appearing in four games for the Comets, Graterol is no longer on his rehab assignment and will be evaluated for a potential back injury, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Brusdar Graterol is getting pulled off of his rehab assignment and undergoing further evaluation, sources said. His back flared up on him and he’s going in for imaging. This obviously sets his timeline way back for a potential return. Velocity was down in his last outing.

Graterol allowed three runs on four hits and three walks in 3.1 innings pitched while on his rehab assignment. He only struck out three batters and had diminished velocity in his most recent appearance on May 12.
Graterol’s four-seam fastball velocity averaged 94.4 mph, his cutter was down to 90 mph and sinker was at 94.6. Graterol’s fastball velocity was down just over three mph from his other games, whereas there was close to a four mph difference in the sinker. The cutter had the biggest discrepancy as Graterol had been averaging 96.4 mph on his rehab assignment.
A potential back injury is the latest obstacle for the 27-year-old. He hasn’t pitched for the Dodgers since Game 5 of the 2024 World Series. It was one of just three postseason games Graterol managed to appear in that year, with all of them coming against the New York Yankees.
Those came at the end of what was an injury-plagued year that’s since been followed by more health issues. Graterol had right shoulder surgery in November 2024 and endured multiple setbacks during the rehab process.
Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said Graterol was expected to be a full participant at the beginning of Spring Training this year, but more trouble caused a delay.
If Graterol is not able to pitch this season or is extremely limited, it figures to unfortunately impact him in free agency.
