The Los Angeles Dodgers received a day off from Spring Training workouts on Wednesday and attended a fun event hosted by manager Dave Roberts at the Grass Clippings Rolling Hills golf course in Tucson, Arizona.

Multiple members of the organization were in attendance for the outing, including Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Jason Heyward, Joe Kelly, Miguel Rojas and Will Smith, among others.

Players and coaches had an opportunity to play several rounds of golf under the lights at Arizona’s first fully-lit golf course, which opened this past December.

Roberts believes the night was a success and called it a good change of pace for the team, via SportsNet LA:

“It was great. We had a good turnout out there at Grass Clippings. There was a lot of players. It’s one of those rare opportunities where you get everyone in the organization out there. From the Minor League side to scouting side, the big league side. It was a lot of fun. Players, families, were out there. Our bench coach, Danny Lehmann, had a hole in one, so that was a highlight. It was a good reset for us.”

Dodgers players and staff have had their share of time on the golf course, with Walker Buehler most notably hosting an annual golf event to support different causes.

Chris Taylor also held his ‘Driving For Hope’ charity event at Topgolf in El Segundo last year, which featured a number of teammates and front office members.

Roberts’ golf outing was a much-needed break for the Dodgers, who begin their Cactus League schedule against the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

Gavin Stone & Michael Grove among Dodgers pitching in Cactus League opener

Roberts confirmed that Gavin Stone and Michael Grove will be among the Dodgers who pitch in the Cactus League opener against the Padres at Peoria Sports Complex.

In addition, Eduardo Salazar, Ricky Vanasco, Stephen Gonsalves, Kevin Gowdy, Elisier Hernández and Alex Vesia are on the schedule to pitch.
