Chris Taylor Expected To Be On Dodgers Postseason Roster For 2022 NLDS

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the process of making evaluations for their 2022 National League Division Series, roster which does not need to be made official until the morning of Game 1 on Tuesday, October 11.

While many of the spots have already been filled, Chris Taylor’s status appeared to be in question due to neck tightness. The 32-year-old missed the team’s final five games of the regular season and received a cortisone injection on Monday.

Taylor fortunately has made progress and now stands a good chance of being included on the Dodgers’ NLDS roster. “I think he’s going to do some stuff in the cage. What I got is baseball activities,” manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday of Taylor.

“I haven’t seen him out here playing catch yet, so hopefully he can do that. He feels better than [Tuesday], so hoping [Thursday] he feels better than [Wednesday]. As we sit here right now, I’m expecting him to be on the postseason roster.”

With Taylor unavailable to play in the Dodgers’ regular season finale on Wednesday, he will now be limited to taking at-bats in simulated games before the NLDS begins.

Roberts previously said there wasn’t concern over Taylor not getting at-bats in the final regular season games, and that he could be on the Dodgers postseason roster even if not fully 100% recovered by Game 1.

Taylor batted .221/.304/.373 with 25 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs, 43 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 454 plate appearances across 118 games this season while appearing at six different positions.
