Sandra Scully, the wife of retired Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully, passed away on Sunday at the age of 76 after a long battle with ALS.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Sandi Scully, the loving wife of Vin and a dear member of the Dodger family,” Dodgers president and CEO Stan Kasten said in a statement.

“Sandi was Vin’s biggest fan and was always there in loving support of him at Dodger Stadium until she began her battle with ALS. She was truly Vin’s and the Scully family’s rock, and she will be dearly missed.”

Vin married Sandra in 1973, one year after his first wife, Joan, passed away. Together, they helped raise six children, 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Sandra was Vin’s biggest supporter and stood by his side during his final broadcast at Dodger Stadium in 2016. They both waved to the crowd after the game, capping off a special weekend that featured many tributes for Vin.

Festivities began with a video tribute narrated by Bob Costas and included an on-field celebration of Scully’s career, which was emceed by Dodgers broadcaster Charley Steiner.

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Hall of Famer Jaime Jarrín, Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred, Dodgers chairman Mark Walter and Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax also honored Scully with pregame speeches.

In the years since Vin retired, he regularly spoke about being at peace with his decision and how much he was enjoying spending time with Sandi.

How Dodgers fans can help honor Sandra Scully

In lieu of flowers, the Scully family has asked that donations be made to the Department of Neuromuscular Disease at UCLA/ALS Research in Sandra’s name.
