The Los Angeles Dodgers winning the 2020 World Series is being commemorated in a documentary that will be available on Blu-ray/DVD and for download on Tuesday, Dec. 8. MLB has additionally announced Vin Scully is narrating the championship celebration.

A collector’s edition of the documentary will be available Feb. 9, 2021. That will encompass an eight-disc set that is 23 hours and has complete games for Game 3 of the National League Division Series, Game 7 of the NL Championship Series and all six World Series games.

The documentary will feature in-depth interviews Mookie Betts, Corey Seager and Clayton Kershaw, and also provide an inside look at life inside the MLB postseason bubble.

It of course is a fitting touch for Scully to be involved in the Dodgers’ championship season. He has remained as much a part of the organization in retirement as he was while in the booth. While Scully has politely declined invitations to temporarily return and call a game, he’s worked with the Dodgers on special occasions.

Among those was serving as emcee and host of an event at Dodger Stadium to unveil the 2020 MLB All-Star Game logo, and also lending his voice to a tribute video in memory of Kobe and Gianna Bryant.

While Scully has enjoyed life at home with his wife and family, he’s kept an eye on the Dodgers over the years. Scully considered the 2020 roster the most ‘balanced’ he’s ever seen and considered the Dodgers an overwhelming favorite against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Dodgers World Series special

As fans continue to await a championship parade — and release of the aforementioned documentary — the Dodgers are holding an unofficial World Series celebration on Wednesday night. The “This Is Our Year” special will air live on SportsNet LA at 6 p.m. PT and is being simulcast on AM 570 and streamed on the Dodgers’ Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.

The live special will include interviews, video tributes and more. Joe Davis, Orel Hershiser and Alanna Rizzo are hosting; and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, Claton Kershaw, Justin Turner, Walker Buehler, Mookie Betts and Corey Seager are among those scheduled to participate.
