The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to sweep the Milwaukee Brewers as the Brew Crew blasted three home runs to win 8-2.

Justin Wrobleski made his MLB debut, and he was solid overall, outside of two key mistake pitches that earned him the loss. The rookie left-hander started the game with three scoreless innings before the Brewers got to him in the fourth inning.

A leadoff walk to Jackson Chourio set the stage, and he came around to score when Christian Yelich hit a two-run homer to straight away center field. It was Yelich’s second homer in as many days.

The Brewers doubled their lead in the next inning when Vinny Carpa reached on a double and Eric Haase hit his first homer of the season, making it a 4-0 game and putting the Dodgers in a hole on a day when their offense didn’t find much success.

Wrobleski finished his debut with five innings pitched, giving up four runs on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks. The overall line score wasn’t great, but he flashed some upside that could make him a piece for the Dodgers in the future.

The Dodgers did cut the lead in the sixth inning following a double from Miguel Rojas. Chris Taylor hit his third homer of the year to make it a 4-2 game, and giving the Dodgers some hope.

But that started to fade in the seventh when Blake Perkins launched a home run, his sixth of the year. It came against Ryan Yarbrough, who also allowed two runs in the eighth inning.

Anthony Banda allowed two runs in the ninth inning on two doubles.

Six Dodgers named National League All-Stars

During the game, Major League Baseball announced five Dodgers players will be joining Shohei Ohtani in Texas for the 2024 All-Star Game. Tyler Glasnow was the only pitcher selected from the Dodgers, while Will Smith, Freddie Freeman and Teoscar Hernández were selected on the position player side.

Mookie Betts was also selected, but he will not play in the game due to his fractured left-hand.
