The Los Angeles Dodgers roster figures to undergo a fair share of turnover during the offseason as the likes of Clayton Kershaw, Kenley Jansen, Corey Seager and Chris Taylor among the key contributors who are free agents.

Taylor is coming off another productive year in which he earned a first career All-Star Game selection. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts regularly praised him throughout the year as being the team’s MVP.

While the future doesn’t yet have much clarity for Taylor, he joined the group of Dodgers players to express his appreciation for fans and the season the team had via a post on social media.

Mookie Betts, Kershaw and Justin Turner are others who have thanked fans and reflected fondly on the Dodgers tying a franchise record with 106 wins.

Although Taylor struggled to finish out the regular season, he etched himself into Dodgers postseason lore with a walk-off home run against the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Wild Card Game.

Since effectively becoming an everyday player with the Dodgers in 2017, Taylor has hit .265/.343/.461 with 133 doubles, 78 home runs and 292 RBI over 623 games. He has embraced a super utility role and expressed a desire to re-sign with the Dodgers.

“It’s been a lot of fun playing with these guys,” Taylor said after the Dodgers were eliminated in Game 6 of the NL Championship Series. “I’ve loved every minute of it. Definitely disappointed, but it’s been a joy to be part of this team.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen. All I can say is I’ve loved every minute I’ve been a Dodger. I have no idea what’s going to happen this offseason, but the last five seasons I’ve been here, it’s been amazing. I’m so thankful I’ve had the opportunity to play for the Dodgers.”

Taylor nominated for 2021 MLB Legendary Moment

Eight players were selected for the 2021 MLB Legendary Moment bracket, including Taylor for his walk-off homer against the Cardinals. Mookie Betts’ game-ending catch against the San Diego Padres is also up for vote.
