Revised 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training Schedule, Results & TV Sched
The 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training schedule was due to begin Saturday, Feb. 26, with a road matchup against the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park, but the MLB lockout brought forth change.
It was going to mark a third year in a row in which the Dodgers did not open Cactus League play against their Camelback Ranch co-tenant Chicago White Sox. In 2020, the Dodgers opened their spring slate against the San Francisco Giants, and last year they were on the road to face the Oakland Athletics.
As the MLB lockout spanned multiple months, commissioner Rob Manfred twice canceled batches of Spring Training games. That amounted to Cactus League and Grapefruit League games not being scheduled to begin until Friday, March 18.
Thus, the first 2022 Dodgers Spring Training game comes against the Milwaukee Brewers at Camelback Ranch. MLB’s two postponements removed 20 games from the original Dodgers Spring Training schedule.
What’s remaining are 18 total exhibition games, with 15 of those coming in Cactus League play. The Dodgers have nine dates at Camelback Ranch — with all but one of those as the designated home team.
The Dodgers break camp and return to Southern California for the exhibition Freeway Series that now begins March 3 at Angel Stadium. It then shifts to Dodger Stadium the next two nights to wrap up the Spring Training schedule.
The Dodgers are entering their 14th year at Camelback Ranch. The property features a state-of-the-art ballpark, six practice fields on the Dodgers’ side of the complex, including a replica Dodger Stadium field, fan photo elements commemorating franchise history, walking trails, an orange grove and a five-acre lake.
