The Los Angeles Dodgers played the first two months with a reduced attendance for home games but that will change on June 15 — declared by the team as “Reopening Day” at Dodger Stadium. From that point forward the Dodgers are selling tickets to full capacity at Chavez Ravine.
The Dodgers are averaging more than 15,000 in attendance and have sold out every home game so far in the 2021 season. Although L.A. County moved into the yellow tier, the Dodgers were not able to take advantage in terms of attendance because of social distancing requirements.
Health and safety protocols also prevented the team from filling Dodger Stadium to the previously-accepted 33% capacity. They attempted to mitigate that by selling tickets in fully-vaccinated only sections, where fans are not spaced out in separate pods.
Ahead of welcoming upwards of 40,000 fans to Dodger Stadium, manager Dave Roberts, Julio Urias and David Price represented the Dodgers in a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination PSA.
Get in the game and get vaccinated. We’re all on the same team so let’s keep looking out for each other. For more information, visit https://t.co/JIANkWPme3. @CAgovernor | @CAPublicHealth pic.twitter.com/iSNDtQ9N1m

The Dodgers as a team recently reached the 85% vaccination threshold, which under MLB’s health and safety protocols, allows for loosened restrictions. To Roberts, it also gives the team somewhat of a competitive advantage due to reducing risk associated with the virus.
“I think we were very mindful of that coming into the season and trying to get to that 85% while all along respecting peoples’ personal decisions,” Roberts said.
“But ultimately to get to this point, the more guys you have vaccinated, you stay away from a situation like that.”
Dodgers tickets for full-capacity games on sale
The Dodgers are currently selling tickets to full-capacity games at Dodger Stadium. The change in attendance policy begins with a matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies that the Dodgers are celebrating by distributing a Justin Turner bobblehead to the first 25,000 ticketed fans in attendance.
