Dodgers Highlights: Yasiel Puig Homers, Justin Turner Drives In 2 In Win Over Angels

The Los Angeles Dodgers were able to get back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Los Angeles Angels, 3-1, to even up the Freeway Series at a game apiece.

It wasn’t exactly an offensive display at Angel Stadium, although the Dodgers got a few big hits when they needed them and coupled it with good pitching.

Justin Turner drove in the Dodgers first two runs, slapping a single to right field with two outs in the fifth to drive in Yasiel Puig and Kiké Hernandez.

Turner has gotten off to a bit of a slow start to this season, but he proved on Saturday that he is still capable of coming up with a clutch two-out hit to help lead his team to a victory, which is exactly why Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has kept him in the No. 3 hole.

With the Dodgers leading 2-1 in the ninth inning, Yasiel Puig provided closer Kenley Jansen with some insurance, launching a solo home run to straightaway center field.

The home run was Puig’s 10th of the season as he becomes the eighth player on the team to hit 10 before the All-Star break, which is a franchise record.

After a rough outing in the series opener on Friday, Jansen shut down the door for the Dodgers, tossing a perfect inning to earn his 24th save of the season.
