Dodgers-Giants Rained Out, Playing Doubleheader At AT&T Park On April 28

Friday’s series opener between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants was postponed due to inclement weather and has been rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday, April 28, with first pitch set for 1:05 p.m. PT.

The previously scheduled game that evening now appears set for a 7:05 p.m. start, or one hour later than it previously was. Fans that had tickets to Friday’s game should keep them as they will be honored for the first contest on April 28.

Additionally, Saturday’s game has been pushed back from 1:05 p.m. to 3:05 p.m. The forecast calls for rain in San Francisco throughout Friday and into Saturday morning.

While the region is susceptible to inclement weather, Friday’s rainout is only the sixth in AT&T Park history and first since April 12, 2006. Last September, a series of rain delays pushed back a game between the Dodgers and Giants to a 10:50 p.m. PT start.

The game ended after 2 a.m. the following morning, with the Dodgers suffering an 11th consecutive loss, marking their worst skid since moving to Los Angeles.

As for this weekend’s series, Kenta Maeda was tabbed to take the ball Friday night after not being needed in relief during the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has instead decided to name Rich Hill as his starter for Saturday though.

Clayton Kershaw will remain on schedule to start Sunday, meaning Maeda could potentially be available out of the bullpen.
