The 2026 MLB Draft continued on Sunday as part of All-Star Week in Philadelphia, which saw the Los Angeles Dodgers make 14 selections to follow up on their two picks from the first day.
Because of signing Edwin Díaz and Kyle Tucker after they each rejected a qualifying offer, the Dodgers forfeited their third-, fifth- and sixth-round picks in the 2026 MLB Draft. They additionally had their first overall selection dropped 10 spots to No. 40 dueto exceeding the second surcharge threshold of the Competitive Balance Tax during the 2025 season.
Because of losing four picks and not having a first-round selection, the Dodgers’ $3,951,900 bonus pool for the MLB Draft is the smallest among all teams.
Bonus pool totals are calculated by adding the slot values of every pick a team makes through the first 10 rounds. Any signing bonus amount more than $125,000 for draft picks after the 10th round also count against pool money.
Consequences for exceeding that allotment include a 75% tax on any overage amount that is up to 5% over the pool. If a team goes beyond the 5% threshold, they will lose their first-round pick in the next draft.
