2024 MLB Postseason Schedule: Wild Card Round To World Series Dates & Bracket

The 2024 MLB postseason schedule has been set, beginning with the Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Oct. 1, for both the American League and National League.

In addition, the 2024 MLB postseason schedule also features flexible World Series dates for the first time.

There are once again 12 teams that make the postseason, with eight playing a Wild Card Series (best of three).

The top two division winners in the NL and AL receive the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in the playoff bracket and await opponents that will emerge from the Wild Card round.

The openers of all four AL and NL Division Series are scheduled to begin on Saturday, Oct. 5. Overall, the Division Series is scheduled to run from Saturday, Oct. 5 through Saturday, Oct. 12, with a potential Game 5 on Friday, Oct. 11 (NLDS) and Saturday (ALDS).

FOX or FS1 will combine to cover the NLDS, while TNT Sports will simulcast the ALDS on TBS, truTV and Max.

The NL Championship Series will begin on Sunday, Oct. 13 and will be televised by FOX or FS1. The AL Championship Series is set to start on Monday, Oct. 14, and will be broadcast across TBS, truTV and Max.

A potential Game Seven of the NLCS is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 21, while an ALCS Game 7 would be played on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

Game One of the 2024 World Series is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 25 at the home of the League Champion with the superior 2024 regular season record.

The opening game of the Fall Classic could move up to Tuesday, Oct. 22 if both the ALCS and NLCS conclude no later than Saturday, Oct. 19.

If a Game 7 is necessary to determine the 2024 World Series Champions, then it would be played on Saturday, Nov. 2, unless the Fall Classic newly shifts to the earlier starting date, which would then feature a potential Game Seven on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The scheduled off days during the World Series are Sunday, Oct. 27 and Thursday, Oct. 31 (based on the original schedule and a necessary Game 6).

FOX Sports will present live telecast coverage of the World Series for the 27th time.

All games telecast on TNT Sports platforms, FOX and FS1 will be available to MLB.TV subscribers who are authenticated subscribers to the applicable network through a participating pay TV provider.

The Wild Card Series will also be available via the ESPN App. ESPN Radio will provide live national coverage of all 2024 MLB postseason games, beginning with the Wild Card Series.

MLB Network will have extensive studio coverage throughout the postseason, including MLB Tonight airing live before and after every game.
