Dodgers Outfielder Yasiel Puig Welcomes New Lakers Star LeBron James To Los Angeles

The biggest star in the NBA today, and perhaps one of the best players ever, shocked the world on Sunday afternoon when LeBron James announced that he is leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The signing was a landmark moment for the Lakers and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson, who is also a part owner of the Dodgers. James has played in eight straight NBA Finals, winning three championships while winning four MVP Awards in addition to being named an All-Star 14 times and to 14 All-NBA teams in his 15-year career.

One of the biggest Lakers fans out there is Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, who is often seen sitting courtside at Staples Center during Lakers games.

After the news about James coming to the Lakers was released, Puig took to Twitter to congratulate him and welcome him to the city of Los Angeles:

The Lakers have been forced to suffer through one of their worst stretches in franchise history in recent years, but that is over now with the best player in the league coming to don the purple and gold.

Puig, as well as Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen and outfielder Matt Kemp are all noted Lakers fans, so expect to see them at a lot of games this upcoming season.
