Will Smith Hosting 3rd Annual Dodgers Comedy Night For Netflix Is A Joke Fest

Will Smith and his wife, Cara Smith, are bringing together comedians, Los Angeles Dodgers teammates and fans for a night of standup comedy in the third annual Dodgers Comedy Night as part of Netflix is a Joke Fest.

The event takes place on Thursday, May 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Saban Theatre in Beverley Hills.

Ken Jeong will host, with performances by Michelle Buteau, Ryan Hamilton, Sam Jay, Tom Papa, Frankie Quiñones, Derrick Stroup and many more.

Among the Dodgers expected to attend are Kyle Tucker, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, Andy Pages, Dalton Rushing, Ben Casparius and Jack Dreyer, as well as manager Dave Roberts.

Proceeds will go to Catching Hope, Will and Cara Smith’s Foundation, which works to help at-risk, low-income youths in transition develop the critical skills needed for leadership, self-advocacy, and self-sufficiency.

Tickets for the event are available at the Netflix is a Joke Fest website, with prices ranging from $50 to $236 before taxes but including fees.

Smith first started hosting the event in 2024, playing on the irony of his laid-back, quiet personality. “No, he’s not funny at all,” Roberts quipped in 2023 when asked about Smith’s personality.

It definitely takes the three-time World Series champion out of his comfort zone, but Smith does his best to let the comedians do most of the work after introducing the show and his charity.

Netflix is a Joke Fest takes place May 4-10 in Los Angeles. It features 440 artists and comedians performing at more than 355 shows across 45 venues, making it the largest comedy festival in North America.

Other featured artists and comedians participating include Kevin Hart, Shane Gillis, Jerry Seinfeld, David Letterman, Wanda Sykes, Jim Gaffigan, Katt Williams, Chelsea Handler, Lizzo, Bob Odenkirk, Bill Simmons, Pete Davidson and Nikki Glaser.

Dodgers Foundation expands Dreamteam program

Over the last 13 seasons, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) Dodgers Dreamteam program has connected young people with the resources and opportunities needed to play baseball and softball.

Now, the program has expanded by 13% this year, allowing LADF to serve 17,000 youth across 156 cities. New affiliate partners include the City of El Monte, County North and LA Metro Churches/Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, as well as expansion into Pomona in partnership with Woodcraft Rangers.

Registration for the 2026 season is now open through 20 affiliate organizations in the 156 cities.
