The Los Angeles Dodgers held their annual Thanksgiving food giveaway event on Tuesday morning, with Will Klein, Dennis Powell, Billy Ashley and Kenny Landreaux among those distributing items to families in need.
The 2025 Dodgers Thanksgiving drive-thru event was held at The Dream Center in Los Angeles, where the Justin Turner Foundation continues to provide support and Kershaw’s Challenge hosts its annual Back-to-School Bash.
In conjunction with Jacoby & Meyers, the Dodgers distributed 1,500 Thanksgiving meals. The team worked closely with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and local community leaders to raise awareness for the first-come, first-served distribution.
“It’s important to give back to the people that need it,” Klein said from the event. “They’ve supported us all year and they’ve been going through it, so just to be able to play a little role and hopefully make their Thanksgiving and life a little better, is really special.”
Meals distributed at the drive-up event consisted of one turkey and assortment of side dishes, including cranberry sauce, boxed potatoes, stuffing, gravy and pies.
“Thanksgiving is about gratitude and community, and Jacoby & Meyers is incredibly proud to partner with the Los Angeles Dodgers, an organization that shares our dedication to serving this city,” Jacoby & Meyers managing partner Michael Akiva said.
“It is a privilege to provide 1,500 meals to L.A. families, supported by our amazing volunteers. Jacoby & Meyers is always here for our community when you need us, and this event is a highlight of our year. We are honored to help our neighbors enjoy a safe and happy holiday meal with their loved ones.”
For Ashley, Landreaux and Powell, it marked participation a second community event in the last week as they were on hand for Veterans Day batting practice at Dodger Stadium.
Mookie Betts, Dodgers partnership for Thanksgiving
On Thursday, Mookie Betts, the Brotherhood Crusade and Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation are joining forces to host their annual Thanksgiving grab-and-go drive-thru at Algin Sutton Recreation Center.
Betts, his wife Brianna, and family members will join volunteers to serve 750 families with turkeys, Thanksgiving sides, gift cards, and basic essentials to ensure they can enjoy a holiday meal. The drive-thru is open to the public, and resources will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
