After a disappointing road trip, the Los Angeles Dodgers now begin a stretch of playing 11 games in Southern California over the next 13 days. That includes a six-game homestand that starts with an Interleague series against the Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox are visiting Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2017, when they were swept in a two-game set. The Dodgers took two of three games from the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field when they last played during the 2022 season.

Overall, the Dodgers are 13-15 all-time against the White Sox, but have gone 6-1 in their head-to-head meetings since 2017. They enter the series opener trailing the Arizona Diamondbacks by four games for first place in the National League West, and are just 4-5 in Interleague play this year.

Tony Gonsolin takes the mound for the first time since Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shed some insight on the team needing to provide him extra rest between starts because of a slow recovery process. That was a factor in the Dodgers relying on a bullpen game Sunday rather than having Gonsolin face the Philadelphia Phillies on regular rest.

Gonsolin enters 3-1 with a 2.21 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over eight starts this season. Gonsolin has completed at least five innings in six consecutive starts but also issued multiple walks four outings in a row.

The White Sox counter with Lance Lynn, who has struggled in back-to-back starts. Lynn is 4-6 with a 6.72 ERA and 1.56 WHIP across 13 starts this season.

The veteran right-hander has surrendered at least one home run in 10 of his starts, which could bode well for the Dodgers. They are tied with the Tampa Bay Rays for the MLB lead this season with 113 home runs hit.

Freddie Freeman leads all NL players with 38 extra-base hits, followed by J.D. Martinez’s 35. Mookie Betts is on a six-game hitting streak.
