SportsNet LA announced they will air all 29 of the 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers Spring Training and exhibition games this year. Telecasts will be handled by multiple broadcast teams, led by Joe Davis, Orel Hershiser, and new reporter and host Kirsten Watson.
The Dodgers’ Cactus League slate begins Sunday, Feb. 28, with a road matchup against the Oakland Athletics at 12:05 p.m. PT. L.A. originally was due to face the Chicago Cubs the day prior, but MLB revised Cactus League and Grapefruit League schedules.
The Dodgers have historically opened their Spring Training slate against Camelback Ranch co-tenant Chicago White Sox, but this year two teams will not meet until Monday, March 8.
L.A. will play 13 consecutive games beginning Feb. 28 until their first off day on Saturday, March 13. One week prior to that, the club will get their first look at the revamped San Diego Padres, who added the likes of Blake Snell Yu Darvish during the offseason.
The Dodgers play 14 of their 26 Cactus League games at Camelback Ranch, including 13 as the designated home team. Among other matchups, they will host the Arizona Diamondbacks (March 10) and San Francisco Giants (March 21).
In their final tuneup before Opening Day, the Dodgers take on the L.A. Angels in the annual exhibition Freeway Series set for March 28-30. The first contest will be held at Angel Stadium while the latter two take place at Dodger Stadium.
Among some notable changes this spring was the elimination of split-squad games as part of MLB’s health and safety protocols. The backfields at Camelback Ranch additionally will be closed off to the public during workouts.
Tickets for 2021 Dodgers Spring Training games at Camelback Ranch were made available to the general public for purchase over the weekend and sold out in less than two hours.
The Dodgers previously announced a maximum capacity of 2,400 socially-distanced fans would be permitted per game. In addition to capping attendance at 18% of full capacity, Camelback Ranch is committed to adhering to local, state and MLB health and safety protocols this spring.
