Mookie Betts has had an eventful offseason, highlighted by getting married to his longtime girlfriend Brianna Hammonds at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. The couple was celebrated by family, friends and several of Betts’ Los Angeles Dodgers teammates.
Since tying the knot in December, Betts has also taken a honeymoon in Cabo, attended the 2021 CBS Sports Classic at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on an invite from University of Kentucky men’s basketball head coach John Calipari, launched a gaming channel on YouTube, and participated in the 2022 PBA Players Championship and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Betts’ has a well-documented interest in bowling and golfing, but the gaming channel was a bit of a new venture. It’s nevertheless provided him an opportunity to connect with Dodgers fans, who Betts recently expressed his gratitude for.
“I just want to stop and tell you guys thank you for the tweets, retweets, interactions. It means a lot to me,” Betts said in a video shared on Twitter. I love you guys.”

Thus far, Betts has used his YouTube channel to not only film himself playing games, but also to answer questions from fans. The channel description notes Betts enjoys battle royale games — a genre that has been dominated by “Fortnite,” “Call of Duty: Warzone” and “Apex Legends” over recent years.
The two-time World Series champion also revealed he occasionally plays “Madden NFL 22,” and primarily uses the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills as his teams.
Betts fought nerves at PBA West Region Qualifiers
Despite having played in high-pressure environments on the field, which of course includes the World Series, Betts said he was more nervous when participating in the PBA West Region Qualifiers.
“I forgot how mentally exhausting this is,” he said. “And physically as well; 28 games in two days, that’s a lot. It is what it is. Again, I just forgot how hard it is. It’s been a little while since I got out here to bowl in a league.
“You think you’ll be fine, but out here is a different animal.”
