The 2020 season was one of the most memorable in recent memory and not for good reason as the COVID-19 pandemic affected lives across the globe, but the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to bring some joy into an overall poor year.

The Dodgers won their first World Series since 1988 and had a historic National League Championship Series comeback after falling down 3-1 to the Atlanta Braves.

It was a magical year for the 2020 Dodgers, and there aren’t many negatives to remember about them. But for Kiké Hernández, one of his most embarrassing memories came during that season. He recalled that moment while talking with Justin Turner in a video posted by the Boston Red Sox:

During the NL Division Series against the San Diego Padres, Hernández revealed he was dealing with a tooth infection that required him to take antibiotics, and one of the side effects being diarrhea.

Hernández was the designated hitter for the Dodgers in the game, so he was watching from the dugout when Dustin May recorded a big strikeout to end the inning. The utility man yelled out a cheer, but it turned out that wasn’t the only thing he let out.

“I thought I farted, I went out to lead off the inning, I struck out in three pitches,” Hernández said in the video. “When I went in the dugout, went straight to the bathroom, pulled my pants down, completely sharted.”

Thankfully for Hernández, no one noticed while he was at-bat, and the Dodgers went on to sweep the Padres in the NLDS, win the NLCS in seven games, and win the World Series in six.

Following the World Series championship, Hernández signed a two-year deal with the Red Sox before inking another one-year deal with the team.

Kiké Hernández recruited Justin Turner

Justin Turner’s career with the Dodgers came to an end after nine seasons, and some of that was due to Kiké Hernández recruiting his former teammate.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora and New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick also were among those who lured Turner to Boston.
