The Los Angeles Dodgers unveiled a surprise addition to their 2018 promotional and giveaways schedule, with a Justin Turner bobblehead to commemorate his walk-off home run in Game 2 of the 2017 National League Championship Series.
The Turner bobblehead will be distributed to the first 40,000 ticketed fans at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, May 9, when the Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks. Coinciding with the unveiling, the Dodgers also announced an 11-game bobblehead ticket plan, which includes the Kenley Jansen ‘Kenley Calrissian’ bobblehead that’s being given out on Star Wars Night (June 15).

Turner’s bobblehead is the second this season that pays homage to the Dodgers’ postseason history. A Kirk Gibson bobblehead was given to fans at Friday’s game, in honor of his pinch-hit, walk-off home run in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.
Turner’s walk-off homer last October was the second in Dodgers postseason history, and making it all the more memorable was that it came 29 years to the day that Gibson hit his against the Oakland Athletics.
“I can’t even put it into words right now,” Turner said after his heroics against the Chicago Cubs.
“It’s incredible. The most important thing was, obviously, helping us get another win. But that’s something down the road, hopefully many, many years from now I’ll get to tell stories about.”
Their connection in franchise lore prompted former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda to refer to Gibson and Turner as “money players.”
