While the Los Angeles Dodgers were busy taking on the Detroit Tigers in their home opener at Dodger Stadium, there was a situation developing in the stadium parking lot.
DJ Swagrman, an L.A.-based musician, and his dog were riding around the Dodger Stadium parking lot in a toy Tesla Cybertruck when they were confronted by security and a Los Angeles Police Department officer.
It resulted in Swagrman and his four-legged companion being banned from ever returning to Dodger Stadium, according to Chuck Schilken of the L.A. Times:
“We got banned,” said Swagrman, who was told the reason for the banishment was because he would not give his name or ID to the officer. “They said if we ever come back to Dodger Stadium we will be arrested for trespassing.”
Swagrman didn’t have any political message or meaning behind his appearance at Dodger Stadium outside of wanting to bring people together:
“I’m always gonna keep spreading love and unity and everything because this is what people need,” said Swagrman, who didn’t want to give his real name because of safety concerns. “I’m not part of politics. I don’t have hatred towards anyone. I just want people to love each other and be happy.”
The video of the incident, which is split into two parts, has over 750,000 likes on Swagrman’s Instagram account. Swagrman has visited other public areas throughout Los Angeles and occasionally ran into more trouble with law enforcement.
Dodger Stadium updates for 2025
The fan experience at Dodger Stadium was not to be forgotten or lost amid renovations during the offseason that aimed to provide more clubhouse and training space for players.
There are several new additions to the center field plaza, including two pitching cages that can be accessed by fans when gates open. The “In the Dugout” virtual reality booth returns with players available to choose for a free photo.
Meanwhile, the Uber pickup and drop-off location at Dodger Stadium moved from Lot 11 to Lot 1. Ubers and other rideshare vehicles will now enter through Gate B in an effort to decrease Gate A congestion and increase the speed of arrival and drop off for fans.
