Tyler Glasnow: Dodgers Roster Just Like The Avengers

The Los Angeles Dodgers are poised to enter the 2025 season as the heavy favorite to win the World Series, which would make them the first team in 24 years to repeat as MLB champions.

Prior to this past offseason, the Dodgers likely would have been given short World Series odds regardless of the flurry of moves they made. But their status as the best team in baseball on paper was indisputable after adding a massive influx of talent to an already-stacked roster and re-signing key free agents.

Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki and Tanner Scott are just some of the many high-profile acquisitions the Dodgers made.

Tyler Glasnow was one of the Dodgers’ biggest additions made prior to the 2024 season, as part of the team’s infamous $1 billion winter. Glasnow was left in awe by what Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and the rest of the front office have been able to accomplish over two years in terms of building out the roster.

“It’s incredible. It’s like the Avengers. The Monstars. It’s the best team I’ve ever been on,” Glasnow said. “To be a part of that team and have so many not only good players, but good dudes and guys you want to hang out with nine months out of the year, that’s a pretty rare thing. They’ve put together a special team on and off-the-field type of guys.”

The 2025 Dodgers might just be the greatest collection of talent in MLB history, though it remains to be seen how that translates to the diamond.

In addition to all the high-end talent, the Dodgers are also incredibly well-balanced and it is nearly impossible to find a true weakness on their roster.

Tyler Glasnow’s first game

Glasnow’s offseason included recovering from a right elbow injury that cut his year short, and part of that process entailed adjusting mechanics in pursuit of remaining healthy.

Glasnow gets to put some of that to the test for the first time Monday as he starts against the Cincinnati Reds.
