As part of the Los Angeles Dodgers recognizing Mexican Heritage Month, Formula 1 driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez is going to be on hand at Dodger Stadium throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Pérez’s forthcoming visit represents the first public crossover within TWG Global’s portfolio, which includes the Dodgers and Cadillac Formula 1 team, America’s newest entry to the sport.
“We’re honored to welcome Checo to Dodger Stadium during Mexican Heritage Month, an occasion that highlights the power of sport to unite fans,” Dodgers owner and TWG Global CEO Mark Walter said in a statement.
“With both the Dodgers and Cadillac Formula 1 Team under the TWG umbrella, this moment reflects our shared commitment to excellence and to inspiring fans around the world.”
Pérez, a six-time Grand Prix winner and with more than 30 podium finishes in his career, is one of Mexico’s most celebrated athletes. The 35-year-old announced in August he was joining the Cadillac Formula 1 team, pairing with 10-time Grand Prix winner Valtteri Bottas for the 2026 season.

Along with throwing out the first pitch, Pérez also is going to attend batting practice, tour the Dodgers’ clubhouse and participate in a jersey-helmet exchange.
“I’m honored to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Dodgers, especially during Mexican Heritage Month and so close to Mexican Independence Day,” Pérez said. “I’m very proud to celebrate this moment with the Los Angeles community and with Mexican fans everywhere.
“Baseball is new for me, but it is great to see how sport has this incredible power to bring people together, and the TWG family is doing a fantastic job in this way. I’m excited to experience the passion of the Dodgers’ crowd, which I hope will get behind the Cadillac Formula 1 Team too.”
