Teoscar Hernández Wants Dodgers To Re-Sign Kiké Hernández

In addition to signing several players from outside of the organization, the Los Angeles Dodgers have brought back some of their own free agents as well. Teoscar Hernández most notably returned to the team on a three-year, $66 million contract this offseason.

The Dodgers also re-signed Blake Treinen to a two-year, $22 million contract, but saw Walker Buehler depart for a one-year deal with the Boston Red Sox.

Among those who are still Dodgers free agents include Jack Flaherty, Joe Kelly, Clayton Kershaw and Kiké Hernández. It is widely expected that L.A. will work out new deals with Kershaw and Hernández before the start of the 2025 season.

During an appearance on “Dodgers Territory,” Teoscar Hernández expressed hope the Dodgers will re-sign Kiké Hernández:

“Hopefully. I’m praying to God that we can bring Kiké back. I miss Kiké and I want him to be a Dodger.”

Hernández has been a fan favorite in his two stints with the Dodgers and once again came up big during the team’s latest World Series run.

Hernández hit .294/.357/.451 with one triple, two home runs and six RBI in 14 postseason games, including a 5-for-18 showing against the New York Yankees in the Fall Classic.

During his postseason career, Hernández has hit .278/.353/.522 with seven doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 35 RBI in 86 games.

Kiké Hernández: Re-signing with Dodgers is ‘main priority’

Hernández said at the start of the offseason that re-signing with the Dodgerswas his biggest goal.

If the sides eventually agree to a new deal as expected, Hernández will likely continue filling a utility role with the team and receive most of his at-bats against left-handed pitching.
