After two consecutive games on the road, the Los Angeles Dodgers return to Camelback Ranch and host the Colorado Rockies for the first of two Spring Training matchups.
Rich Hill makes his second Cactus League start, five days removed from an excellent debut against the Chicago White Sox. He tossed a scoreless inning of work, recording one strikeout while not allowing any batter to reach base.
Also making his second outing of the spring is Rockies right-hander Chad Bettis. He struggled in Saturday’s start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, yielding three runs, three hits (one home run) and one walk over two innings pitched.
Bettis looks to bounce back from a rough 2018 campaign in which he posted a 5.02 ERA, 5.07 FIP and 1.40 WHIP with 80 strikeouts against 47 walks across 120.1 innings (27 games, 20 starts).
The 29-year-old owns a career 2-2 record, 4.85 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 65 frames against the Dodgers since making his MLB debut in 2013 (16 games, 11 starts).
The Los Angeles lineup features many projected starters against the division rival Rockies, as Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, A.J. Pollock and Justin Turner all return after getting a day off.
Pollock remains in the leadoff spot, which although he hasn’t formally committed to him at the top of the lineup, manager Dave Roberts said the center fielder “looks right.”
