Coming off a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers, the Los Angeles Dodgers hit the road for their first Spring Training matchup against the rival San Francisco Giants at Scottsdale Stadium.

Julio Urias makes his second Cactus League start and looks to build off a promising debut against the Oakland Athletics. In one inning of work, he did not allow a baserunner while picking up a strikeout.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Urias’ maturity and composure following the outing. The 22-year-old is focused on using Spring Training to make his case for a permanent spot in the starting rotation.

Jeff Samardzija gets the nod for the Giants, who also makes his second start of Cactus League play. He thrived in his debut against the Kansas City Royals, tossing two scoreless innings with a strikeout.

In just 10 starts last season, the 34-year-old went 1-5 with a 6.25 ERA, 5.44 FIP and 1.63 WHIP over 44.2 innings pitched.

A.J. Pollock returns to the starting lineup and is bumped down to the No. 5 spot. Despite not being at the top of the order, Roberts still views him as the club’s ideal leadoff man heading into the regular season.
