Spring Training Preview: Dodgers, White Sox Meet For Final Time Of 2022 Cactus League Schedule

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the designated home team Sunday afternoon for their second and final Spring Training matchup against the Chicago White Sox this year. L.A. suffered an 8-6 loss to Chicago nearly one week ago.

The Dodgers are coming off a win against the Kansas City Royals, which was just their second in Cactus League play. That’s compared to three losses and four ties despite having 17 different players slug a home run this spring.

L.A. figures to need plenty of offensive production against a White Sox lineup that boasts several of their regulars.

On the pitching front, Andrew Heaney makes his first start and second appearance overall. He allowed five runs on five hits over 2.1 innings, but had better success after being removed and re-entering the game.

Garrett Cleavinger, Caleb Ferguson, Reyes Moronta and Yency Almonte are also scheduled to pitch. Walker Buehler, the Dodgers’ Opening Day starter, is throwing in a B game on the backfields at Camelback Ranch.

Dallas Keuchel takes the mound for the White Sox in what’s his second start of the year. Keuchel allowed five runs on three hits in 2.1 innings during his debut.

Joe Kelly has yet to appear in a game for the White Sox and won’t face his Dodgers teammates on Sunday as he goes through a steady buildup process to account for recovering from a right biceps injury.

The Dodgers face the White Sox at Guarantee Rate Field from June 7-9.

The Dodgers lineup again has Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Trea Turner at the top. Manager Dave Roberts has indicated they will be ordered as such to begin the regular season.
