Although unrest persists between MLB, its owners, and players over an unusually slow free agency period, clubs are on the verge of reporting for the start of Spring Training. Los Angeles Dodgers pitchers and catchers are due in camp by Wednesday, Feb. 13, with position players joining five days later.
The team will hold their first full-squad workout Feb. 19, and the Dodgers open their Cactus League schedule against the Chicago White Sox on Friday, Feb. 23. That game will be one of 20 SportsNet LA will air live this spring.
Included in that is coverage of all three games of the exhibition Freeway Series that will be played March 25-27. SportsNet LA will begin their coverage from Camelback Ranch alongside pitchers and catchers reporting.
Their broadcast schedule includes televising every game on Saturday and Sunday. The Dodgers’ schedule calls for marquee matchups with the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants. Sunday games have them facing the likes of the Giants and Seattle Mariners.
SportsNet LA’s game telecasts will be called by multiple broadcast teams, led by Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser. Charley Steiner, Rick Monday, John Hartung, Nomar Garciaparra, Jerry Hairston Jr. and Ned Colletti will also take their turns in the booth during Spring Training.
Access SportsNet: Dodgers will again be hosted by Hartung and Alanna Rizzo, with analysis from Hershiser, Garciaparra, Hairston Jr. and Colletti. Rizzo will provide daily analysis, special reports and exclusive interviews direct from Camelback Ranch throughout Spring Training.
“Backstage: Dodgers” will again take fans behind the scenes for the duration of camp, with the series debuting on March 14, following “Access SportsNet: Dodgers.”
