Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman & Will Smith On Cover Of 2024 Dodgers Media Guide

Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Will Smith were selected to be on the cover of the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers media guide. This season marks one of the most anticipated ever for the Dodgers after their historic offseason.

Along with the signing of Ohtani to a 10-year, $700 million deal, the largest contract for a player in professional sports history, the Dodgers also signed Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year, $325 million deal, making him the highest paid pitcher in MLB history.

They also upgraded their roster by acquiring and extending Tyler Glasnow, signing Teoscar Hernández and James Paxton, and re-signing Joe Kelly, Kiké Hernández, Jason Heyward and Ryan Brasier.

It is a roster loaded with star power on the pitching staff and their offense, but the Dodgers selected to only feature some of the club’s top hitters.

The Dodgers also made sure to highlight their new uniform patch, which features the Guggenheim Baseball logo, on the cover of the media guide.

The Guggenheim Partners are of course the group that owns the Dodgers, which runs under the name of Guggenheim Baseball Management.

Led by controlling partner Mark Walter and a group of investors including Peter Guber, Todd Boehly, Bobby Patton, Alan Smolinisky, Robert L. Plummer, Billie Jean King, Ilana Kloss, Stan Kasten and Magic Johnson, Guggenheim has owned the Dodgers since March 2012.

Guggenheim is a global investment and advisory firm that has recently opened offices in Japan.

The media guide is produced yearly by the Dodgers and includes general club information, staff and executive information, club history, player and coach biographies, and other information to assist the media.

Previous Dodgers media guide covers

Fernando Valenzuela graced the cover of the Dodgers 2023 media guide. It was a fitting tribute for the famed left-hander who had his No. 34 jersey retired by team during the season.

In 2020 and 2021, the Dodgers media guide featured multiple players from the respective season’s roster as well. Vin Scully was on the cover in 2016, his final season in the broadcast booth, and Jaime Jarrín received the honor in 2022.
