The Los Angeles Dodgers fell into a 2-0 deficit for the third consecutive game and came away with a second win against the Colorado Rockies during that span.
Sunday’s comeback was much more dramatic than the Dodgers’ win in the series opener. The walk-off victory lowered their magic number to four for the National League West title heading into a showdown with the second-place San Diego Padres.
After the Dodgers squandered multiple opportunities and saw their deficit grow to 4-0, Teoscar Hernández put them on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning.

The home run was Hernández’s 31st of the season and has him one shy of tying a career high that was set with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2021.
Colorado got the run back in the sixth inning but Kiké Hernández pulled the Dodgers closer in seventh behind a two-run homer.
Then Freddie Freeman, who had grounded into two double plays earlier in the game, delivered an RBI base hit with two outs to cut the Rockies’ lead to 5-4. Freeman’s single was set up in part by Shohei Ohtani stealing his second base of the day, giving him 55 on the season.

With the Dodgers still trailing in the bottom of the ninth, Ohtani led off with his 53rd home run to tie the game. Dodger Stadium went into even more of a frenzy as Mookie Betts followed with a second career walk-off home run and first with the Dodgers.
Dodgers scenarios vs. Padres
The Dodgers can guarantee themselves first place in the NL West through Thursday simply by winning one game against the Padres.
If the Dodgers win two games, that will clinch the NL West.
