Nominees for the 2024 All-MLB Team were announced with Shohei Ohtani among the seven Los Angeles Dodgers as finalists for the honor.
Ohtani is joined by Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernández, Will Smith, Jack Flaherty and Alex Vesia among the list of 115 players to be nominated.
Selections for the All-MLB Team 2024, which was established in 2019, will be announced on Nov. 14 during the “All-MLB Team Show” from The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan during the second annual All-MLB Weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Additional MLB awards to be unveiled in Las Vegas during the live All-MLB Show include the Hank Aaron winners, Comeback Players of the Year, Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman Relievers of the Year, and Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter of the Year.
Fans voting and a decorated panel of media members, broadcasters, former players and other officials throughout the game will have equal say in determining the first-team and second-team choices who comprise the 2024 All-MLB Team. All fans who vote for the 2024 All-MLB Team can enter for a chance to win a trip to All-MLB Weekend to see the winners announced live.
Fans and panelists will vote for their choices at catcher, first base, second base, third base, shortstop, three outfielders (without regard for left/center/right) and designated hitter, along with five starting pitchers and two relief pitchers on both the first and second teams.
All choices will be based on the 2024 regular season, without regard for American League or National League affiliation.
From now through Friday, Oct. 11 at 9:00 a.m. PT, fans may vote for their 2024 All-MLB choices at mlb.com/allmlb each day.
In addition, the ballot will be available in Spanish at lasmayores.com/todomlb.
Dodgers nominated for 2024 All-MLB Team
Shohei Ohtani
Ohtani finished the season batting .310 with a 1.040 on-base plus slugging while becoming the first player in MLB history to join the 50-50 club as he finished with 54 home runs and 58 stolen bases.
He also tallied 38 doubles, drove in 130 runs and scored 134.
Ohtani is bidding for a fourth consecutive All-MLB selection.
The two-way star has been selected to either team as both a designated hitter and a starting pitcher in each of the last three seasons after earning first-team honors as a designated hitter and second-team honors as a starting pitcher in 2021; first-team honors as a starting pitcher and second-team honors as a designated hitter in 2022; and first-team honors in both categories in 2023.
Freddie Freeman
Freeman is the lone player to be honored as a first-team or second-team selection in each of the previous five seasons.
He finished the year hitting .282 with an .854 OPS while hitting 35 doubles, 22 home runs, driving in 89 runs and scoring 81 runs, also adding nine stolen bases.
Mookie Betts
Betts is a four-time All-MLB Team selection seeking a fifth designation. Although he missed a chunk of the season due to injury, the infielder/outfielder had another fantastic season.
Listed as an outfielder for voting purposes, Betts hit .290 with an .867 OPS, 24 doubles and 19 home runs while driving in 75 runners, scoring 75 runs himself and stealing 16 bags.
Teoscar Hernández
Leading all NationaL League outfielders in home runs, Hernández is a finalist after setting a new career-high with 33 long balls.
In addition, he also hit .270 with an .839 OPS while driving in an NL-best 99 runs among outfielders, scoring 84 runs, hitting 32 doubles and stealing 12 bases.
Will Smith
Smith started the year out red-hot before tailing off in the second half of the season, but it was still good enough to earn him the honor as a nominee.
The backstop hit .248 with a .760 OPS while doubling 24 times, hitting 20 home runs, posting 75 RBI and scoring 77 runs. Just for good measure, he also added one stolen base.
Jack Flaherty
Acquired at the trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers, Flaherty had a fantastic season overall, throwing 162 innings with a 3.17 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and adding 194 strikeouts.
He also finished the year going 13-7 between the two clubs.
Alex Vesia
Vesia had an incredible season as one of the more underrated Dodgers, but he earned the trust of manager Dave Roberts, becoming a top high-leverage arm for the club.
He finished the year posting a 1.79 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and struck out 12.31 hitters per nine while throwing 65.1 innings. He also recorded five saves on the season.
