The seventh annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium was attended not only by players and team personnel, but celebrities and entertainers alike.
The event raised $3.5 million and the Dodgers Foundation is on track to reach $100 million by 2024. This year the blue carpet was rolled out for a “10 Years Reimagined” theme.
“Ten years ago, we promised to make the organization the best it can be in every respect and have since worked tirelessly to serve Angelenos. I’m proud of all the Foundation’s work in bringing our original vision to fruition,” LADF chief executive officer Nichol Whiteman said.
“We have invested more than $53 million in programs and grants to local organizations impacting more than 9.8 million youth and 250 unique nonprofits. Our work continues, and we eagerly look forward to the next decade of amplifying our every day champions and transforming the communities we serve.”
Blue Diamond Gala attendees were treated to a pre-show dinner party that included a set by award-winning DJ D-Nice, plus a benefit concert by Usher, and the Dodgers’ DJ Severe playing to close the night out.
Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete served as emcees of the Blue Diamond Gala. Special guests included Diane Farr, Jimmy Jam, Loni Love, Otito Ogbonnia, Haley Joel Osment and Josh Palmer, among others.
Under the Guggenheim ownership group, LADF raised more than $81 million. Over the last decade, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation has invested more than $50 million in their programs and grants to local organizations and impacted more than 9 million youth.
