Rockies Vs. Dodgers Game Preview: Mookie Betts, Justin Turner Out Of Lineup For Series Finale

After splitting the first two games of their weekend series at Dodger Stadium, the Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers now meet for a rubber match on Sunday afternoon.

By the time first pitch rolls around, the San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves may have concluded their matchup at Truist Park. That of course is of interest to the Dodgers, who began the day 2.5 games back of first place in the National League West.

L.A. looks to get a series win without Mookie Betts and Justin Turner in the lineup. Betts recently returned from the 10-day injured list and played in three consecutive games prior to receiving the day off.

Turner may be out of the lineup for the first and only time this week as the Dodgers have series with the Atlanta Braves and Giants on the horizon. The team has a scheduled off day on Thursday.

Mitch White, who was recalled Sunday morning, takes the mound for his third career start. White’s last time pitching for the Dodgers was out of the bullpen, but the team did not see it necessary to have him follow an opener once again.

“With his pitch mix, pretty neutral versus left and right,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts explained.

White is 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA, 3.93 FIP and 1.19 WHIP in 17 games (two starts) for the Dodgers this season.

The Rockies counter with Antonio Senzatela, who is 2-9 with a 4.42 ERA in 21 starts. The right-hander has fared even worse on the road, where he is 0-6 with a 5.24 ERA.

Senzatela twice faced the Dodgers in April and allowed a combined 12 runs (11 earned) over six innings pitched. The second of those outings came at Dodger Stadium, during which Senzatela surrendered three home runs.
