After a narrow 2-1 loss on Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers play their second-to-last game of the regular season at Dodger Stadium against the Colorado Rockies.
With the series tied at two games a piece, the Dodgers send Julio Urías to the mound for the 31st time this year as the left-handed ace looks to earn his 18th win on the season.
Urías’ final start of the regular season is expected to be abbreviated as he puts the finishing touches on an impressive campaign. He takes the mound with a National League-best 2.12 ERA to go along with 162 strikeouts over 170 innings pitched.
Urías was particularly impressive during the month of September, which saw him post a 1.19 ERA in five starts. Last week, he turned in six scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres.
The Dodgers hope to follow Urías with another relief appearance from Andrew Heaney as he seemingly continues to prepare for that role in the playoffs. Heaney threw four innings after Brusdar Graterol served as an opener last week.
As for the Rockies, Ryan Feltner makes his 20th and final start of 2022. The 26-year-old is looking to end the season on a high note and reverse his fortunes from a 3-9 record and 6.01 ERA.
Feltner faces a Dodgers lineup that’s scored one run in each of the past two games. However, Trayce Thompson has found his swing of late and has a 1.458 on-base plus slugging percentage in the series thus far.
Justin Turner is the designated hitter on his bobblehead night and Kourtney Turner is singing the national anthem.
