Retired Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully has launched his own non-fungible token (NFT) collection through popular digital wallet Bitski.

The “Vin Scully: Brooklyn To LA Series” was designed in collaboration with Flux 88 Studios and celebrates the three chapters of his storied career. Each collectible includes an audio recording from Scully describing the iconic call that is highlighted.

The first NFT pays homage to Scully’s call of Sandy Amorós’ catch that helped the Dodgers secure their first championship over the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the 1955 World Series.

Only 255 of these collectibles have been produced, and they start at $32 on www.flux-88.com/scully.

The second NFT commemorates Scully’s call of Kirk Gibson’s improbable walk-off home run against the Oakland Athletics in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series. This collectible is a bit more rare as only 140 have been produced, and sell for $88.

I had no clue about NFTs until very recently, but lo and behold, there's a first time for everything. I hope you enjoy them. https://t.co/xIfACZh2ih

The final NFT, dubbed “A Lifelong Pursuit,” offers a glimpse of Scully’s passion for the radio, what inspired him to pursue a broadcasting career and how he feels about the industry today.

Only one of this collectible has been produced, and includes an experiential package. The winner of this auction additionally will receive an autographed baseball, special items from a new line of official Scully merchandise, and a pair of VIP tickets to a future Dodgers game as a guest of Dennis Gilbert, a longtime friend of Scully and former sports agent.

As of this publishing, the highest bid for the one-of-one Scully NFT was near $2,000, with just under 70 hours remaining.

MLB, Candy Digital announce long-term NFT partnership

Amid a rise in popularity and demand for digital collectibles, MLB entered the NFT space earlier this year by announcing a long-term partnership with Candy Digital.

The up-and-coming digital collectible company now has exclusive rights to produce NFTs for the league, and their first release back in June commemorated Lou Gehrig’s famous “Luckiest Man” speech.
