After a 3-3 road trip, the Los Angeles Dodgers begin a seven-game homestand by hosting the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.
The Dodgers are 7-3 over their last 10 games and enter play with a 29-16 record, which is good for first place in the National League West. The Reds, at 18-25, have dropped eight of their last 10 games and are tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for last place in the NL Central.
Tyler Glasnow makes his 10th start and looks to continue what has been a dominant 2024 season. He carries with him a 6-1 record, 2.53 ERA, 2.48 FIP, 0.86 WHIP and MLB-leading 73 strikeouts in 57 innings pitched.
Glasnow allowed just one run and collected 10 strikeouts over seven innings of work in his last start against the San Diego Padres. The right-hander and Michael King combined to make modern MLB history with their respective performances.
Glasnow is 1-1 with a 3.97 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 11 career games (two starts) against the Reds, with his most recent appearance coming in 2018 when he was a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Cincinnati counters with Brent Suter, who is serving as the opener of a bullpen game. The left-hander has posted a 3.86 ERA, 4.28 FIP and 1.21 WHIP in 25.2 innings pitched across 17 appearances.
Suter is 1-1 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 11.1 innings over 10 career games (one start) against the Dodgers.
With the lefty on the mound, the Dodgers are going with a few of their platoon players, but James Outman and Gavin Lux are both getting a start against the southpaw.
Andy Pages and Will Smith both get a day off. It’s the first off day Pages has had with the Dodgers.
