While a narrative has formed that Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman refused to trade prospects, he’s done just that on several occasions. One of which was trading Brandon Dixon, Jose Peraza and Scott Schebler to the Cincinnati Reds in December 2015.

In return, the Dodgers received Micah Johnson, Frankie Montas and Trayce Thompson; none of whom are still with the organization. Meanwhile, Dixon, Peraza and Schebler were all in the Reds’ lineup on Tuesday night.

Not only that, but each contributed in the club’s sixth win in as many games against the Dodgers this season. The trio combined to 5-for-11 with one double, two home runs and were responsible for all three runs scored in a 3-1 victory.

Dixon’s solo home run off Hyun-Jin Ryu broke a scoreless tie in the second inning, and Schebler’s blast off Ryu in the third extended the Reds’ lead to 2-0.

Naturally, both former Dodgers farmhands took additional satisfaction in their respective home runs, via Ken Gurnick of MLB.com:

“Any time you can hit a home run, you’re happy,” said Dixon. “But to play against some of these guys, it’s always a little extra to hit a home run against them.”

“The win is the most important part. But, yeah, you kind of have a little more of a chip on your shoulder,” said Schebler.

Schebler was selected by the Dodgers in the 26th round of the 2010 Draft. He made his MLB debut in 2014 and went on to bat .250/.325/.500 with three home runs and four RBI over 19 games with the club that season.

The Dodgers drafted Dixon in the third round in 2013. He reached Double-A Tulsa prior to getting traded by the Dodgers. Dixon made his MLB debut this season with the Reds and has appeared in 65 games thus far.
