Lance Lynn turned in another strong performance and Austin Barnes provided a big swing to help the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 1-0, completing a series sweep and extending their season-best winning streak to 11 games.

The win also meant the Dodgers remained undefeated through seven games on their current homestand.

Lynn went toe-to-toe with Corbin Burnes as he completed seven scoreless innings. Lynn had some stretches of allowing hard contact on balls hit right too defenders, and he wiggled out of a significant jam in the sixth.

After back-to-back singles put runners at the corners with nobody out, Lynn induced a comeback and caught Tyrone Taylor in a rundown, then retired the next two batters faced to keep the game scoreless.

Lynn has completed seven innings in two of four starts for the Dodgers, pitching to a 1.44 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in those outings.

The Dodgers appeared prime to provide him with an early lead when Mookie Betts led off the bottom of the first with a single and Freddie Freeman walked. But in what was a sign of the night ahead, Burnes struck out David Peralta and Will Smith, then retired Max Muncy.

Barnes led off the third inning and moved into scoring position on a balk, but Burnes otherwise struck out three. Burnes held the Dodgers to just two hits and finished with nine strikeouts

The Brewers’ bullpen immediately allowed the Dodgers to take a decided lead when Barnes lined a home run to left field off Joel Payamps. The homer was Barnes’ first of the season.

Evan Phillips entered in the ninth inning to convert the save.

J.D. Martinez removed from Dodgers lineup

Prior to the game, J.D. Martinez was scratched from the Dodgers lineup for a fourth time since July 23 because of a left groin/adductor issue.

Martinez played in the first two games against the Brewers after missing one week because of the nagging injury. The Dodgers hoped an epidural injection was going to keep him healthy for the remainder of the season.
